27. - 29.09.2016 - 2nd Workshop: Hierarchically-ordered Materials: From Theory to Applications

Fraunhofer IISB, Schottkystraße 10, Erlangen

Zeolites or zeolitic materials with a hierarchical building concept are becoming more and more important. They are always combining a perfectly ordered microporous fraction with different levels of more or less ordered larger porosity. Two years ago, the focus of the FEZA Pre-School 2014 was already dedicated to hierarchically porous systems covering all aspect from hierarchy in powders to their application. Currently, this field stimulates extensive research activity in particular fundamental studies of hierarchy formation. However, the development of analytical tools for the qualitative and quantitative characterization of the property hierarchy is still a challenge.

Thus, the second workshop is predominantly devoted to this topic and will provide a discussion platform for: Characterization of the property hierarchy in zeolite containing materials. Under this viewpoint we were able to bring together top scientists.

The workshop will be supported by the DECHEMA Fachgruppe ‘Zeolithe’ and the Cluster of Excellence (EAM), in which hierarchy is the key topic. Again researchers of different Research Areas of the EAM will contribute to this workshop.
